Mario Kart Tournament Rules & Format
Tournament Format
Warm-Up & Ranking
Players will compete in warm-up races on the same track.
Rankings will be determined based on the best lap times.
Players will be seeded into groups based on their rankings.
Group Stage
Players will be divided into groups.
A random circuit for each group will be chosen via a spin.
Each group will race 4 tracks, earning points based on finishing positions.
The top 2 players from each group will advance.
Knockout Stage (Single Elimination Circuit)
Players will compete in 4-race circuits in each round.
The player with the highest total points from those 4 races advances.
Random tracks will be selected for each round.
Finals (Best of 5 Races)
The championship round will be a best-of-5 races showdown.
The player with the highest overall finishes wins the tournament.
General Rules
Game Version: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Nintendo Switch)
Race Settings: 150cc, CPU, Normal Items
Controllers: Any official Nintendo Switch-compatible controller allowed
Disconnections: If a player disconnects, they forfeit that race unless technical issues affect multiple players.
Sportsmanship: No cheating, unsportsmanlike conduct, or intentional griefing.
Additional Rules & Clarifications
Race Settings & Conduct
Tiebreakers: If two or more players tie for advancement, a one-race tiebreaker will be held on a randomly selected track.
Item Balance: Normal items will be used, but no custom or banned items.
Glitch/Exploit Use: Using track exploits (e.g., shortcut glitches) will result in disqualification from the race.
Player Etiquette & Fair Play
Intentional Stalling: Deliberately staying at the back to manipulate items (e.g., farming Bullet Bills) may result in penalties.
Trolling/Bullying: Repeated targeting of a single player or disrupting the tournament intentionally will lead to warnings or disqualification.
Controller Malfunctions: Players are responsible for their own equipment. If an issue occurs mid-race, the race will continue.
